Drew Stevens wins Washington Commanders kicking competition

The Washington Commanders have concluded their kicking competition, selecting undrafted free agent Drew Stevens as the team’s new kicker. Reports indicate the team has released incumbent Jake Moody following the preseason.

Stevens, who joined the team after a record-breaking career at Iowa, demonstrated high consistency during training camp. He converted 43 of 48 field goal attempts (89.6%) in practice. His collegiate career included setting an Iowa record with 76 made field goals and earning third-team All-Big Ten honors.

Moody, who held an early advantage in the competition, finished with a 36-of-47 (76.6%) conversion rate in practice. While both kickers were successful in their single preseason attempts, Stevens' overall performance and consistency led the front office to finalize the position.
