Driveclub runs at 8K on PC via ShadPS4 emulator

A new patch for the PlayStation 4 emulator ShadPS4 enables the racing game Driveclub to be played on Windows PCs at 4K and 8K resolutions, delivering the sharpest visual version of the title to date. The original PS4 release ran only at 1080p and 30 fps, and neither the PS5 nor the PS5 Pro received any graphical upgrades; the only official improvement was faster loading times.

The emulator update also adds a toggle for motion‑blur, which was heavily used on the console to mask lower frame rates, and introduces the ShadNet system for sharing scores online. Developers aim to add full online multiplayer, potentially reviving the game’s original club‑based social features. Driveclub was created by Evolution Studios, which was closed by Sony in 2016 after the studio’s staff moved to other projects.
