Driven Lawyers launches AI-native firm in Amsterdam

A new AI-native law firm, Driven Lawyers, has launched in Amsterdam. Founded by Arvid van Oorschot and Jelle Drok, the firm integrates artificial intelligence into its core operations rather than using it merely as a tool. The firm utilizes a proprietary software platform called ‘Driven Drafter,’ which incorporates legal frameworks to assist in drafting documents within a controlled environment that anchors every claim to a verifiable source.

While many Dutch law firms are rapidly adopting third-party AI tools like Harvey and Legora, industry experts suggest these platforms may not provide a lasting competitive advantage because they rely on public data. In contrast, the strategy employed by Kirkland & Ellis—which involves a $500 million investment and a partnership with Palantir—focuses on building an ‘ontology.’ This approach aims to digitize the firm’s institutional memory, capturing specific procedures, case nuances, and the reasoning behind past decisions to create a unique, reasoning-capable AI layer.
