Driver arrested after fatal head-on collision on Soroksári út

A 34-year-old driver, identified as Ferenc N., has been arrested following a fatal head-on collision on Soroksári út on September 3. The accident occurred when the suspect, driving a Mitsubishi, crossed into the oncoming lane and struck a Ford carrying a married couple.

The 62-year-old driver of the Ford died at the scene, while his wife was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Investigations revealed that Ferenc N. tested positive for drugs at the time of the incident. During a court hearing, the suspect claimed his attention was diverted by his partner, who was traveling in the vehicle with him.

The Budai Central District Court ordered his detention until at least October 5. The suspect has a prior criminal record, including drug-related offenses, and was only four months past the expiration of a previous parole period.
