Driver arrested after fatal Kampala crash kills motorcyclist and injures three pupils

A 33-year-old driver, Mulema Dennis, has been arrested following a fatal road accident in the Mutungo-Biina area of Kampala's Nakawa Division. The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. on Friday, September 18, 2026, near Muggies Hotel.

According to police, a white Toyota Hilux Double Cabin driven by Dennis collided with a motorcycle. The motorcycle rider, identified as 22-year-old Muhindo Reagan of Wakiso District, died at the scene. Three pupils from Kiswa Primary School, aged 7, 13, and 13, were also on the motorcycle and sustained serious injuries. The children were rushed to Mulago Hospital for medical treatment.

Preliminary investigations suggest the crash was caused by suspected careless driving. Dennis is currently in custody at Jinja Road Police Station as investigations continue to determine the exact circumstances of the collision.
