Driver arrested for double drink‑drive limit in Aberystwyth after public tip
Police in Aberystwyth stopped a vehicle after members of the public reported dangerous driving on June 19. Officers from the Roads Policing Unit found the driver to be more than twice the legal alcohol limit and a roadside drug test indicated the presence of controlled substances. The driver was arrested on suspicion of multiple offences and taken into custody. Dyfed‑Powys Police reminded the public that driving under the influence can lead to a criminal record, up to six months’ imprisonment, an unlimited fine and an automatic driving ban of at least 12 months, and urged people to report suspected incidents by calling 101 or 999 in emergencies.
