Driver caught traveling 206km/h on M1 motorway

Tuggerah Lakes highway patrol police intercepted a black Range Rover Sport traveling at 206km/h on the M1 motorway near Mardi on the Central Coast. The vehicle was traveling north in a 110km/h zone.

The driver, who was accompanied by two passengers, underwent roadside testing that allegedly indicated the presence of alcohol and illicit drugs. Subsequent testing at Wyong Police Station reportedly showed a blood alcohol reading of 0.066 and a positive indication for cocaine.

Police have suspended the driver's license, and he is scheduled to appear in court in October. He faces charges of dangerous driving, exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h, and drink driving. Additional drug driving charges may be laid pending laboratory results.
