Porsche driver caught traveling 312 km/h on French motorway
French police in the Alps intercepted a Porsche 911 GT3 traveling at 312 km/h on the A40 motorway, where the speed limit is 130 km/h. After applying technical margins, the recorded speed was 300 km/h. The driver, a Swiss national, was traveling 182 km/h over the limit, covering approximately 87 meters per second.
Law enforcement officials seized the vehicle and the driver's license, and a deposit of 1,500 euros was required. The driver faces potential legal consequences including a fine of 3,750 euros and up to three months in prison. Authorities emphasized that “the road is not a racetrack.”
