Driver detained after fatal motorcycle collision in Tlalpan

A driver identified as Néstor N has been detained in the Tlalpan area of Mexico City following a fatal collision with a motorcyclist. The victim, a 25-year-old man, died after being struck by a red Toyota. A 12-year-old minor was also injured in the incident.

According to legal representatives for the victim's family, the driver allegedly accelerated toward the motorcyclists after an initial encounter. The driver reportedly fled the scene but was stopped approximately 700 meters away by the victim's father when traffic and a traffic light forced the vehicle to halt. The driver was subsequently arrested by the Mexico City Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) in coordination with C5 operators.

The victim's family is seeking to have the investigation reclassified from involuntary manslaughter to intentional homicide, citing the driver's prior behavior and subsequent flight from the scene. Legal counsel has also requested justified preventive detention for the suspect.
