Driver in Murcia cycling hit-and-run linked to 2013 hammer murder
Óscar Jesús A. G., the driver recently detained for striking five cyclists with a vehicle in Murcia, has been identified as the perpetrator of a hammer murder committed 13 years ago in Jacarilla.
In 2013, the suspect entered his great-aunt's home under the pretense that his grandfather had died, seeking money to fund a cocaine addiction. During the incident, the suspect's partner allegedly struck the 78-year-old woman with a hammer. While the suspect claimed his partner committed the act while he restrained the victim's husband, the partner testified that Óscar Jesús was the one who killed the woman.
The suspect has a documented history of cocaine addiction, which was a primary motive for the 2013 attack.
