Truck collision on Route 16 leaves one driver hospitalized

Two trucks collided during the early hours of Saturday on National Route 16, near La Escondida, Chaco. The accident involved a Mercedes-Benz transporting wheat and an Iveco carrying a load of soy.

One driver, a 40-year-old man from Santa Fe, was injured and transported to the local hospital in La Escondida. Medical reports indicate he suffered a mild chest trauma and remains under observation, though he is reported to be out of danger. The second driver, a 60-year-old man also from Santa Fe, received assistance at the scene.

The collision caused a significant spill of soy onto the roadway, necessitating traffic restrictions and partial detours. Emergency response teams, including local firefighters, highway police, and road maintenance workers, attended the scene to clear the cargo and normalize traffic flow. Authorities are currently investigating the causes of the crash.
