Driver killed as family car plunges into drain in Perak, Malaysia

Around 10:52 p.m. on 8 August, a Proton Wira carrying six family members fell into a drain in Kampung Pulau Juar, Kampung Gajah, Perak. A woman and four children were rescued by bystanders before the fire‑brigade arrived. The driver, 39‑year‑old Mohd Khirzee Musa, was found unconscious in the driver’s seat. Fire‑brigade personnel performed CPR on site, but he was pronounced dead before being handed over to police.

The operation, led by senior officers of the Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia (JBPM) Perak, involved seven firefighters, a rescue vehicle and a fire‑rescue truck. The incident was fully concluded by 12:30 a.m. after the victims were transferred to the Ministry of Health for further treatment and the scene was secured by the Royal Malaysia Police.
