Driver pleads guilty in fatal Manchester crash

Kailyn Gorga, 20, of Toms River, has pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide and assault by auto in Ocean County Superior Court. The charges stem from a single-vehicle crash in Manchester that occurred in April 2024.

Investigators determined that Gorga was driving a Mazda 3 when the vehicle struck a median, overcorrected, and overturned. At the time of the accident, Gorga’s blood alcohol concentration was 0.099%, and tests also detected THC. The crash resulted in the death of 18-year-old passenger Catalina Reinoso, who was declared brain dead five days after the incident.

Prosecutors are seeking a seven-year prison sentence. Sentencing is scheduled for October 23, 2026.
