Driver rescues lost child on Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway

A young boy, estimated to be between 3 and 5 years old, was safely reunited with his family after wandering onto the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway in Dong Nai province late on September 12.

Driver Huynh Huu Hoai discovered the child running alone on the expressway ramp near the Phuoc Thai roundabout while driving toward National Highway 51. Recognizing the extreme danger posed by passing vehicles, Hoai stopped his car to assist the child, who was carrying a backpack and crying. To prevent any misunderstanding regarding child abduction, Hoai recorded the encounter and transported the boy to the Phuoc Thai Commune Police station.

The boy's father later explained that the child had been left in the care of an aunt while he worked a night shift. The boy had woken up unexpectedly and wandered out to find his father. By the early hours of September 13, the family had been located and successfully picked up the child.
