Driver safety and vehicle comfort for long-distance travel

Experts are highlighting the risks of road hypnosis during long-distance travel. Advanced driving techniques specialist Selçuk Dedeoğlu warns that driving continuously for 2.5 to 3 hours, particularly on straight highways, can cause the brain to enter a trance-like state where the driver fails to react to hazards. To mitigate this, drivers are advised to rest for 6 to 7 hours before starting a trip and to take breaks every 2 to 2.5 hours to walk and improve blood circulation.

In addition to driver health, vehicle maintenance is critical. Essential checks include tire pressure, braking systems, engine oil, cooling water, batteries, and lighting.

Regarding vehicle performance for long journeys, several models have been identified as leaders in comfort and reliability. The Lexus ES 300h ranks highest for its combination of silence, comfort, and fuel efficiency. Other top-performing models include the Mercedes E-Class, noted for its suspension and cabin insulation, the Lexus LS 500h for luxury, the Toyota Camry Hybrid for economic reliability, and the BMW 5 Series for driving dynamics and cabin quietness.
