Drivers arrested for drug‑impaired crashes in the UK and Singapore

In Sussex, England, three men were convicted during the annual Christmas crackdown on drink and drug driving. Delivery driver Mudassar Malik tested with 263 µg cocaine per litre of blood and received a 12‑month driving ban and fines. Fast‑food worker Stephen Gray was found with 78 µg alcohol per 100 ml of breath, was banned for 20 months and ordered to complete community service and pay costs. Unemployed driver Luiz De Oliveira had 77 µg benzoylecgonine per litre of blood, received an 18‑month ban and similar penalties. The crackdown resulted in 112 convictions from 279 arrests.

In Singapore, a 30‑year‑old van driver rear‑ended a stationary lorry at Bukit Batok on 28 July. Police found an e‑vaporiser and pod in the vehicle and arrested the driver for driving under the influence of drugs. He was taken to hospital, charged, and the vape‑related offence was referred to the Health Sciences Authority for further action.
