Driving schools raise prices due to rising fuel costs
Driving schools are increasing their hourly rates for both car and truck lessons to offset the rising costs of diesel and gasoline. According to the Federation of Driving Schools, diesel prices have reached up to €2.44 per liter, while gasoline has reached approximately €2.00 per liter.
David Barattucci, vice-president of the Federation, noted that the impact is particularly significant for truck training. He explained that learner vehicles consume more fuel than standard models due to frequent idling, frequent stops and starts, low-speed driving, and inefficient gear management or acceleration by students.
On average, hourly rates are increasing by between €2 and €5 depending on the region, with even higher increases seen in truck driving instruction.
