DroidDeck app enables Steam gaming on Android devices

DroidDeck, a new free application released on GitHub, allows Android smartphones and handheld devices to run Steam games directly on the hardware rather than relying on remote streaming. The app aims to replicate the Steam Deck experience on mobile platforms by running the actual Steam application alongside tools similar to those used by Valve to enable Windows games on the Steam Deck.

Due to the high computational requirements, the app is currently limited to devices equipped with recent Qualcomm Snapdragon chips, specifically those with Adreno 700 series GPUs or newer. Compatible hardware includes the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, ASUS ROG gaming phones, and the AYN Odin 2 handheld.

While the software is in a preliminary stage with varying stability across different titles, it offers features such as a Big Picture interface, support for Decky plugins, and the ability to install Linux applications via FlatPak and AppImage. Users can also access games from other platforms like GOG, Epic, and Amazon. Developers have cautioned that there is no official DroidDeck website and users should only download the app via its official GitHub page.
