Drone attack near Dorohusk triggers border evacuations
An unidentified aerial object triggered security alerts and evacuations along the Polish-Ukrainian border on the morning of September 13. The incident began around 4:10 AM when a drone attacked a gas station located approximately two kilometers from the Dorohusk border crossing, causing an explosion strong enough to shake windows at the facility.
Following the explosion, reports indicated an unidentified aerial object was heading toward the Hrebenne crossing. In response, authorities evacuated over 300 personnel, including Border Guard and National Revenue Administration officers. Security procedures were implemented across the entire border strip in the Lublin Voivodeship, leading to a temporary suspension of operations at the Dorohusk, Zosin, Dołhobyczów, and Hrebenne crossings.
By the afternoon, the situation was brought under control. Major Dariusz Sienicki, spokesperson for the Nadbużański Border Guard Unit, confirmed that border traffic had returned to normal and crossings were operating without further disruptions.
