Santander police seize nearly two kilograms of cocaine base on public bus

A 50-year-old woman was arrested in Santander, Colombia, after being found in possession of nearly two kilograms of cocaine base while traveling on a public bus.

The arrest occurred during a police control operation on the La Lizama–San Alberto road, specifically in the El Quince sector. Officers conducting inspections of passengers and luggage discovered 1,970 grams of the substance in the woman's possession.

Néstor Rodrigo Arévalo Montenegro, commander of the Santander Police Department, stated that authorities are maintaining permanent controls on major road corridors to disrupt networks using highways for illicit drug transport. The suspect and the seized drugs have been handed over to the General Prosecutor's Office in Barrancabermeja for processing regarding drug trafficking and possession charges.
