A Russian-type Geran-4 attack drone crashed in the outskirts of Chiștelnița, Telenești district, landing approximately 100 meters from a residential home and near an energy installation. The drone, which features turbo-jet propulsion, carried a thermobaric warhead with shrapnel effects weighing 52.4 kilograms.

Police and National Army engineers successfully conducted a controlled detonation of the explosive payload after evacuating the area. No casualties were reported following the incident. The drone was detected on October 23, entering Moldovan airspace from the direction of the Vinnytsia region in Ukraine before disappearing from radar systems near Sângerei and Rezina.

President Maia Sandu condemned the airspace violation, stating that Russia's war continues to endanger lives in Moldova. In response to the incident, an employee of the Russian Embassy in Chișinău was declared persona non grata. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrei Sibiga also expressed solidarity with the Republic of Moldova.
