Buzău drone debris discovery prompts security investigations

Authorities in Buzău County, Romania, are investigating the discovery of suspected drone debris on an agricultural field near Moșești village, Robeasca commune. The fragments, which include engine components, fuselage pieces, and propeller elements, were found by a local farmer on Wednesday, October 21.

Specialists from the Ministry of National Defence (MApN) and the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) are conducting technical examinations to determine the origin and nature of the objects. Preliminary indications suggest the drone may have crashed several days prior to its discovery and was not detected by military radar systems.

This incident follows a previous discovery in July where drone components were located in the Buzău and Brăila regions. In response to regional security tensions, the Supreme Council of National Defence (CSAT) has been convened to discuss security implications in the Black Sea area and measures to protect critical maritime infrastructure.
