DroneShield awarded $500 million U.S. counter-drone contract
DroneShield has been awarded an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for the United States Domestic Shield initiative. The contract, issued through the Joint Interagency Task Force 401 (JIATF-401), has a maximum value of up to $500 million over a three-year period.
The agreement establishes a streamlined procurement pathway to deploy counter-unmanned aircraft systems (counter-UAS) capabilities to protect critical defense infrastructure and other high-priority locations across the U.S. DroneShield has previously provided DroneSentry-X Mk2 technology to JIATF-401 for use on infantry squad vehicles.
While the contract provides a significant potential revenue ceiling, the actual volume of orders remains subject to specific task requirements and call-offs. The announcement follows recent financial reporting from the company, including discussions regarding EBITDA and net losses.
