DroneShield faces rising costs and stock volatility
DroneShield is experiencing a significant shift in investor focus toward profitability as operating expenses rise. For the first half of 2026, operating costs increased to 103 million A$, up from 42 million A$ in the previous year.
Despite this cost expansion, the company has secured 261 million A$ in contractually bound revenue for 2026, which falls within its target range of 250 to 270 million A$. To support growth, the company is expanding its software offerings, including updates for target classification and the announced DroneSentry-C2 platform.
On the market side, DroneShield's stock has seen a dramatic decline, losing approximately 79% from its record high and trading around 1.55 AU$. Technical indicators such as the RSI and MACD have not yet confirmed a trend reversal, as the stock tests a key support zone between 1.40 and 1.65 AU$.
