DroneShield launches first European drone defence system amid ASIC probe

Australian defence firm DroneShield announced the start of production for its first European‑manufactured drone‑defence system, using a local contract manufacturer and a new office in Amsterdam. The move aims to shorten supply chains and meet EU procurement rules as the company showcases the product at the Eurosatory 2026 exhibition in Paris.

Financially, DroneShield holds about 223 million AUD in cash and has secured 155 million AUD of contracted revenue for the current fiscal year, but its share price remains depressed, trading around 15 % below its 50‑day average. The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has opened an investigation into possible disclosure breaches, adding further pressure on the stock.

Meanwhile, the company secured a roughly 25 million AUD contract from the United States for drone‑countermeasure technology, a deal the firm says could boost future growth despite the regulatory uncertainties.
