DroneShield opens EU factory amid surge in automated drone production

Australian drone‑defence specialist DroneShield announced the start of production at a new European manufacturing line and secured a contract to supply mobile and stationary defence systems to the U.S. Joint Interagency Task Force 401. The company also reported a leadership change with Angus Bean taking over as CEO. Despite these operational gains, the share price has fallen more than 15 % over the past month and is down 26 % since the start of the year.

German engineering firm Grob unveiled automated equipment for series production of drone components and electric motor systems, emphasizing the sector’s rapid move from low‑volume prototype builds to high‑volume industrial manufacturing. Grob highlighted the growing demand for drones in precision agriculture, urban security, disaster relief and light transport, and previewed a related industry meeting scheduled for December 2026.
