DroneShield reports 74% revenue growth despite net loss

DroneShield, an Australian counter-drone technology specialist, reported a 74 percent increase in first-half revenue, reaching 125.8 million Australian dollars. Despite this growth and the maintenance of its full-year revenue guidance of 250 to 270 million Australian dollars, the company reported a net loss of 32.2 million Australian dollars and an EBITDA loss of 12.4 million Australian dollars.

The company’s secured business for the current year has risen to 240 million Australian dollars, with 43 million Australian dollars of that volume extending beyond the current fiscal year. While gross margins remain solid at 60 percent, recurring revenue currently accounts for only 9.2 percent of total business.

Investors have reacted to recent financial disclosures and lowered revenue forecasts with significant volatility, contributing to a substantial decline in share price over recent months. However, the company continues to expand its manufacturing capacity and international presence to meet rising demand for drone defense in military and infrastructure sectors.
