DroneShield shares fall significantly despite rising revenue

DroneShield Ltd shares have experienced a significant decline, falling approximately 75% from their record high of roughly $6.80 AUD. The stock has recently tested key support levels between $1.45 and $1.75 AUD following a period of intense selling.

Despite the share price volatility, the company has reported strong revenue growth. First-half revenue increased by 74% to $125.8 million, with recurring revenue rising 229% to $11.5 million. Furthermore, the company has secured committed revenue of $251 million for FY26 and an additional $46 million for FY27 and beyond.

However, the company remains loss-making, reporting a statutory loss of $32.2 million and an underlying EBITDA loss of $12.4 million for the first half. Investors face uncertainty due to lumpy defense contract schedules, ongoing investigations by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), and the challenge of converting rapid scaling into sustainable profitability. To expand its technological offerings, DroneShield recently announced a collaboration with AIM Defence to integrate high-energy lasers into its counter-drone architecture.
