Dronning Margrethe II’s Bridge to close for night maintenance

The Danish Road Directorate (Vejdirektoratet) will conduct vibration measurements on the supporting cables of the Dronning Margrethe II’s Bridge. The work is scheduled to take place over five nights between September 22 and October 9, 2026, from 19:00 to 05:00.

During these periods, the bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic. The measurements aim to determine how vibrations in the bridge's stay cables are dampened by installed vibration dampers. Because the work is weather-dependent and requires calm conditions, some scheduled nights may not proceed as planned.

Drivers will be diverted to the old Storstrømsbro. However, trucks exceeding 10 tons are prohibited from using the old bridge and must instead use the Farøbroerne detour. Pedestrians and cyclists will maintain access to the Dronning Margrethe II’s Bridge throughout the maintenance period.
