Drop Coffee Roasters opens first Japanese location in Nakano

Swedish specialty coffee brand Drop Coffee Roasters has opened its first Japanese location at Nakano Marui in Tokyo. Established in Stockholm in 2009, the roaster is internationally recognized, having earned silver and bronze medals in the World Coffee Roasting Championship.

The new cafe offers approximately 12 types of single-origin coffees roasted in Stockholm, alongside a daily coffee option. In addition to coffee, the shop serves traditional Swedish sweets such as cinnamon and cardamom rolls, as well as Nordic-style sandwiches and specially developed cakes tailored for the Japanese market. The establishment aims to introduce the Swedish concept of ‘Fika’—a cultural practice of taking a break for coffee and conversation—to the Nakano area.
