Drowning incidents claim lives in Slovakia and Czech Republic

A 45‑year‑old man died after jumping from a water bike into the Kanianka reservoir in Slovakia. Rescue teams searched the area but the man did not reach the surface, and a post‑mortem examination was ordered.

In the Czech Republic, a woman born in 1976 disappeared while walking near the river Mže close to the ruins of Buben Castle. She was rescued unconscious, received resuscitation and was air‑lifted to a hospital in Plzeň, but later died. A forensic autopsy has been mandated to determine the cause of death.
