Dörr team clarifies equipment parity following Glock allegations

The Dörr team has addressed technical allegations following comments made by former Formula 1 driver Timo Glock regarding equipment parity. Glock had suggested a distinction between an “A-car” and a “B-car” during the race at the Nürburgring.

In response to rumors circulating in the DTM paddock concerning the use of different differentials for Ben Dörr and Timo Glock, the McLaren team offered the technical commissars of the DMSB (Deutscher Motor Sport Bund) the opportunity to inspect the components. Following an inspection of the gearboxes on both McLaren 720S GT3 Evo cars, officials concluded that the differentials were identical and compliant with regulations.

Team owner Rainer Dörr stated that the inspection provided clarity, confirming that both drivers have access to the same material. He dismissed the accusations by noting that the team simply maintains a “B-car” and a “T-car” for Ben and Timo respectively.
