Dru Brown to start for Winnipeg Blue Bombers against Argonauts

Backup quarterback Dru Brown will start for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers this Friday against the Toronto Argonauts. Brown replaces starter Zach Collaros, who has been sidelined due to a head injury sustained during a September 12 game against Saskatchewan.

This will mark Brown’s fifth start since being acquired via trade from the Ottawa Redblacks in late June. During his relief appearances this season, Brown has recorded 1,148 passing yards, five touchdowns, and five interceptions. Veteran left tackle Stanley Bryant expressed confidence in the team’s continuity, stating he does not expect a significant drop-off in mentality or performance.

Running back Brady Oliveira also noted Brown’s preparation during the recent bye week. Bryce Perkins serves as the secondary backup for the Blue Bombers.
