Dominican Republic authorities seize thousands of grams of drugs in coordinated raids
The National Directorate of Drug Control (DNCD) and the Public Ministry carried out simultaneous operations in Santo Domingo Oeste, La Vega, San Pedro de Macorís and several districts of the Distrito Nacional. The raids dismantled micro‑trafficking networks, arrested at least 14 people and confiscated more than 5,400 grams of cocaine, marijuana, crack and other narcotics. Authorities also seized weapons, explosives‑detecting equipment, multiple scales, vehicles, cash and communication devices.
The actions, conducted by the Joint Task Force (FTC), targeted neighborhoods such as Villa Francisca, Cristo Rey, Capotillo, El Café, La Rosa and others, aiming to remove drug‑selling points from the streets and restore public safety.
