Drummondville implements infrastructure upgrades and administrative changes

The City of Drummondville, the Centre de services scolaire des Chênes (CSSDC), and Cégep Drummond have jointly invested $2.5 million to modernize the Complexe Marchand. The funding was split equally among the three partners, with each contributing approximately $833,000. The project included the installation of a new synthetic surface for football, soccer, and athletics, composed of a natural granule base of walnut and coconut. Additional improvements include a new rooftop terrace for technical management, enhanced spectator galleries, outdoor storage spaces, and new bleachers.

Separately, the City of Drummondville is implementing a new administrative structure this autumn to improve organizational performance as the population approaches 100,000 residents. This restructuring coincides with the appointment of Maxime Hébert Tardif as Director General on November 2. The new hierarchy will reduce the number of assistant directors general from three to two, with Jean-François Daigle and Jonathan Guay overseeing land development and citizen life, respectively. The city is also establishing a dedicated Real Estate Projects Office (BPI) within the urban planning department to serve as a single point of contact for real estate developers.
