Drunk driving incidents reported in Lehesten and Landau

Two separate incidents of driving under the influence were reported in Germany on September 15, 2026.

In Lehesten, a 71-year-old driver collided with two parked vehicles on Breiten Straße. Witnesses reported the man was visibly intoxicated and had difficulty standing. A breathalyzer test revealed a blood alcohol level of more than 3.2 per mille. Police have initiated criminal proceedings, and the driver faces the loss of his license.

In Landau, a 65-year-old driver caused an accident at a gas station on Weißenburger Straße. After initially denying involvement and fleeing the scene, the man was located by authorities. A breathalyzer test showed a level of over 2.3 per mille. He is facing criminal charges for endangering road traffic and leaving the scene of an accident.
