Drunk driving incidents reported in Moldova and Romania
Authorities in Moldova and Romania have reported separate incidents of driving under the influence.
In Moldova, a 40-year-old man was caught operating a tractor in the village of Grigorăuca, Sîngerei district, while intoxicated. The individual had an alcohol concentration of 1.11 mg/l in his exhaled breath and was driving without a valid license, having previously had his driving rights revoked for refusing alcohol tests. Police reported that ten individuals were removed from traffic in the North Patrol Directorate area over a 24-hour period for various licensing violations.
In Romania, a 50-year-old man in Stâlpeni, Argeș, is facing criminal investigation after being caught driving a car with an alcohol level exceeding the legal limit. Breathalyzer tests indicated a value of over 0.40 mg/l of pure alcohol. The driver was taken to a medical unit for biological sampling to determine blood alcohol levels for potential criminal liability.
