Latvian police officer kills man at Priekule festival

On 26 July, during the Priekule city festival, a young police inspector who was off‑duty and intoxicated struck a male teacher, causing fatal injuries. The victim was a pedagogue and head of the fashion‑design programme at Liepāja Music, Arts and Design High School. Emergency services arrived but the man died in the ambulance.
