Druzhba residents face month-long hot water outage

Residents of the Druzhba district in Sofia have been without hot water for nearly a month due to ongoing repairs and subsequent accidents within the heating network. The project involves replacing old pipes in the area, but the process has led to prolonged service interruptions for many apartment blocks.

Local residents have expressed growing frustration over frequently changing deadlines and a lack of clear communication from authorities. Some families, including those with small children, report having to heat water in pots or use camping showers to meet basic hygiene needs. While some residents noted that service was briefly restored on September 13, it was disconnected again shortly after. Beyond the water shortage, the construction work has caused secondary issues, such as restricted access to buildings and parking difficulties.
