DS Automobiles unveils F3VER concept to signal shift toward hatchbacks

DS Automobiles has unveiled the DS F3VER, an experimental concept car designed to signal the brand's future design direction. Debuted at the Paris Motor Show, the concept features a sculptural silhouette, a compact form, and a focus on high levels of personalization, including a Cosmic Blue dichroic color and an adjustable roof ring.

The F3VER marks a strategic shift for the brand, moving away from the crossover and SUV trends that have dominated the market. According to Design Director Thierry Metroz, the decision to return to a low-profile B-segment hatchback is a direct response to customer feedback requesting a departure from the current SUV-heavy lineup.

The upcoming production model, which may be renamed ‘No3’, is expected to utilize the STLA One platform. The brand aims for a target electric range of 550km, with a minimum threshold of 500km. To improve profitability and speed up development, DS Automobiles intends to reduce component counts by 30% and shorten development cycles from four years to under two years.
