DS N°7 launch highlights luxury interior amid noise concerns
The second generation of the DS N°7, a key model for Stellantis-owned DS Automobiles, is being released in both hybrid and electric versions. The vehicle aims to bolster the brand's presence, particularly in markets like Germany where the predecessor was highly successful.
While the N°7 features a premium interior with high-quality materials like brushed aluminum and recycled Alcantara, early reviews highlight significant drawbacks. Despite its luxury positioning, the electric model reportedly suffers from excessive road noise caused by its 20-inch wheels, undermining its promise of a quiet, relaxing driving experience.
Strategically, Stellantis is moving the DS brand closer to Citroën operationally, with plans to triple its dealer network and double service points to reach more private customers. The N°7 utilizes the STLA Medium platform and features an aerodynamic design with a drag coefficient of 0.26.
