DS & Durga launches fragrance inspired by Corpse Flower

New York-based fragrance brand DS & Durga has launched a limited edition perfume titled ‘Resurrected Corpse Flower’. The scent was inspired by the rare Amorphophallus gigas, commonly known as the Corpse Flower, which bloomed at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden.

Co-founder David Seth Moltz, who experiences synesthesia, developed the fragrance to create a contrast between the putrid scent of the actual flower and a more beautiful, reborn aroma. While the natural flower is noted for smells resembling decay, the perfume utilizes notes of Madonna lily, tuberose, freesia, green olive, grapefruit, and bog cedar to achieve a balance of dark and light elements.

The fragrance is available as a 50 ml Eau de Parfum priced at $270.
