DSI to summon news hosts over Kan Chomphlang Foundation funds

The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) is preparing to summon two prominent news hosts, Kanchai Kamnerdploy and Phuttha-apiwan Ongprabaramee, to testify as witnesses. The investigation concerns the financial transparency of the ‘Kan Chomphlang Helps Fight’ Foundation.

The probe follows a request from lawyer Sithra Biabangkerd, who submitted a letter to the DSI Director-General seeking an investigation into whether donation funds from the foundation were used improperly. DSI officials stated they are currently investigating the facts and have coordinated with the two hosts, who are listed as individuals who previously donated to the foundation.

Authorities are gathering evidence to determine if the circumstances meet the criteria for a ‘special case’ under criminal law. The DSI has emphasized its commitment to a swift and transparent investigation to provide clarity to the public.
