Düsseldorf Airport moves former Condor Airbus A320
A former Condor Airbus A320, which has been stationary at Düsseldorf Airport since early 2022, has been moved to a maintenance hangar. The aircraft, registration D-AICD, was part of Condor’s fleet before being decommissioned as part of the airline's fleet modernization.
According to a spokesperson for Düsseldorf Airport, the aircraft was towed to a hangar operated by the maintenance company Nayak. The owner, based in the United Kingdom, has commissioned an assessment to determine the costs required to potentially restore the aircraft to airworthy condition.
The jet has completed over 25,000 flights and more than 70,000 flight hours during its service life. While similar aircraft in good condition can be valued at approximately 8.6 million euros, the extent of the work needed after nearly five years of inactivity remains to be seen.
