Düsseldorf restores historic Rhine water level clock

The historic water level clock (Pegeluhr) at the Düsseldorf Rathausufer has been officially returned to service following an extensive restoration. The landmark, which has been a part of the city's history for over 120 years, had been out of operation for several weeks during its refurbishment.

The restoration project involved repairing the Art Nouveau facade, removing dirt, fixing damaged joints, and renewing technical components and dials. The project was made possible through the civic engagement of the Düsseldorfer Jonges and various sponsors. Mayor Stephan Keller expressed his gratitude to those involved in preserving the monument for the future.
