Düsseldorf students honored at School Heroes 2026 awards

Approximately 120 students from various secondary schools were honored at the ‘School Heroes 2026’ awards ceremony held on July 8 at the Stahlwerk in Düsseldorf. The event recognized students for their exceptional commitment and engagement during the previous school year.

During the ceremony, Düsseldorf Mayor Dr. Stephan Keller personally presented honorary certificates to the recipients. Students from Goethe-Gymnasium were among those honored, including individuals recognized for their work on a hospice project. This initiative, developed within a democracy education framework, involved raising 1,200 euros for a children and youth hospice and participating in community service activities such as improving the facility's garden.
