DSV expands temperature-controlled air freight to Shanghai

DSV is expanding its Air ThermoDirect network by introducing a new direct connection between Luxembourg and Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG). The service utilizes dedicated freighter aircraft for multiple departures, allowing the company greater control over scheduling, routing, and cargo handling to support the growing pharmaceutical sector.

To support the Shanghai operations, DSV is partnering with Eastern Air Logistics for specialized ground handling and China Eastern Logistics Cold Chain for cold chain infrastructure. The expansion aims to facilitate both inbound and outbound healthcare shipments between Asia and international markets, with plans to add further Air ThermoDirect connections to the United States.

The Air ThermoDirect solution employs modular thermal packaging and reusable materials to provide flexible, scalable, and more sustainable cold chain operations, reducing reliance on traditional passive packaging and minimizing waste.
