DSWD clarifies 4Ps seven-year extension limits
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has clarified that the extension of the seven-year limit for the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) is restricted to specific vulnerable households. Under Executive Order No. 120, Series of 2026, only families classified under Level 1 (Survival) or Level 2 (Subsistence) according to the Social Welfare and Development Indicator (SWDI) may qualify for continued assistance.
Assistant Secretary Elaine Fallarcuna of the DSWD’s Conditional Cash Transfer Group emphasized that the extension is not automatic. Beneficiaries must undergo an annual reassessment to measure economic sufficiency and social adequacy. To remain eligible, households must continue to comply with program conditionalities, including mandatory health check-ups, school attendance, and participation in Family Development Sessions (FDS).
Based on recent SWDI results, approximately 1,381,625 families are eligible for this extension, consisting of 1,744 Level 1 families and 1,379,881 Level 2 families. The new rules are expected to take effect in December.
