DTCC partners with Stellar to tokenise assets

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) announced a partnership with the Stellar Development Foundation to enable tokenisation of financial assets on Stellar’s public blockchain. The agreement, outlined in a press release, targets the deployment of the first tokenised assets by the first half of 2027 and supports a multi‑chain strategy that links traditional capital‑markets infrastructure with digital‑asset ecosystems. DTCC CEO Frank La Salla highlighted the goal of expanding liquidity, transparency and risk‑management for market participants, while Stellar Executive Director Denelle Dixon emphasized Stellar’s compliant, open architecture. The collaboration also aligns with DTCC’s broader initiatives, including a tie‑up with Canton Network and anticipated tokenisation efforts involving Nasdaq, NYSE and European exchanges. Following the announcement, Stellar’s native token XLM rose about 6% in 24‑hour trading.
