dTest evaluates canned beans in tomato sauce

The consumer organization dTest has published its 2026 testing results for canned beans in tomato sauce. The laboratory study evaluated 16 different products based on their taste, composition, and nutritional content, specifically focusing on protein, sugar, and salt levels.

Testing criteria included sensory properties such as appearance, aroma, overall taste, saltiness, tomato intensity, spice levels, and the balance of sweet and sour flavors. Additionally, experts assessed the consistency of the beans, the viscosity of the sauce, and the accuracy of the nutritional information declared on the packaging. While some products performed well, others were criticized for high salt content, indistinct flavors, or inaccurate labeling.
